New blog header photo!

New header photos call for special blogs to say thank you to my one and only, john scott goodson for creating this beautiful picture for my blog. I'm such a lucky girl. I couldn't have asked for a better person in my life<3

On a side note, today I went to the mall with my mom and Jared and was thrilled when i discovered that there was a boba tea shop there! Jared loves boba too so we each got one. I got just a regular peach tea with boba in it and Jared got a green apple smoothie with boba in it! They were both super yummy and I'm thinking we might have to go again tomorrow if we have time.

On another side note,  I met a band by the name of Shinedown tonight. Apparently they are pretty big and everyone in the area seemed to know who they were except me. From the few minutes that I had to listen to their music they appear to be similiar to Puddle of Mud? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, I want one of these cute decals from RVA:

I love this sing, I love this band, I love the Dupree sisters, and I love cereal!

Crochet headbands!

So I've been making crochet headbands as one of my projects for the farmer's markets Scott, Lindsay, and possibly Whitney, will be at in August or September. These are only a few of the ones I've made but they all pretty much have the same concept. Let me know what you guys think of them and any ideas you have about them. I'm also open to trades :]

These include vintage buttons, cloth flowers, and crocheted flowers!

10 things i L O V E Monday?

So yesterday I drove around 320 miles from Grand Junction, Colorado to Rock Springs, Wyoming. It was a boring, ugly drive with lots of roadkill to keep my stomach queazy the whole time. My cousin Jared rode with me in the car and at some points it was nice to have someone there with me, but we definitely do not enjoy the same music and got pretty irritating when I had to listen to him complain about mine and have him explain to me how closed minded he is. Anyways, when we finally got here and had eaten dinner last night I was beyond exhausted and decided just to go to bed and update my blog this morning. 10 things I love:

1. These crochet hair ties that I plan on making:
2. Regina Spektor's new album "Far" that I just downloaded:

3. Crocheting. I've been crocheting for quite some time now and it was always something that came so naturally to me. Knitting is lovely as well,  but crocheting has my heart.

4. These crochet flowers that I also plan on making:
5. Iced coffee, that I am craving right now.

6. TOMS, I am in desperate need of a new pair and I kind of adore these:
7. 500 days of summer that I am dying to see. I adore Zoey Deschanel:

8. Bing cherries, lots and lots of them.

9. The idea of almost being two weeks away from seeing my sunshine. I have been gone far too long.

10.  This book that I bought last week that speaks of Vegan dieting:

I'm off to spend a day crocheting, reading, and adventuring.

Driving day.

I'm driving around five hours today to make it to Rock Springs, Wyoming, or as many people refer to it as, the armpit of America. I am not the least bit of excited to go to Wyoming, however that does mean that I am one more week closer to being home.

On a lighter note, I want to dress like this every day:

July 21, 2009

Sunday morning I left Gunnison, Colorado and headed back to Grand Junction (the city my summer pretty much revolves around). That afternoon I went shopping for craft supplies at Michaels, and made a few stops along the way (Borders, natural food market, sunglass shop). Afterwards I worked on a few of craft projects and just hung out the rest of the night.

Monday my cousin Jared and I went to go get me coffee at my fav coffee shop in downtown Grand Junction. He let me sit for awhile outside and just enjoy the nice breeze that was flying by around 10 a.m. Afterwards we went to the mall where he bought a new pair of sneakers (Jordan's? He's obsessed with Nikes!) and I bought cute school supplies.

Around 1 p.m. we went and saw Bruno at the movie theater across the street from the mall. We had both been really wanting to see Bruno, but about 5 minutes into the movie I knew I didn't really want to see it anymore but it was too late to back out so I sat through around 2 hours of very vulgar, yet funny at times, humor and covered my eyes a lot haha. Later on that evening my family and I went to eat at a Chinese Buffet, and then to see Harry Potter, which I loved!

Today, Tuesday, Jared and I got up bright and early and made it to a Starbucks by 8 a.m. for Free Pastry Day! I was really worried that there would be a super long line and we wouldn't end up getting our free pastry, but it turns out not as many people as you would think knew about the deal around here and we only had to wait for two other customers to place their orders. Here is what Jared and I got, Jared: stawberries and cream frap with a slice of lemon pound cake, Myself: skinny vanilla latte and a bran muffin with apple and cherry bites in it. My muffin was super yummy and I will definitely be having another one sometime in the future.

The rest of the day was filled with running errands and working.

Here is a few pictures to sum up my last few days:

Cute school supplies (pens, pencils, paper, recycle chip bag folders and pencil holders (one for me, one for scott) and my new fav yellow purse that I got for 15 bucks!

Letter from my great Uncle George to my Great Uncle Wolf from 1989 that mentions how my mom and I just visited him (letter borrowed from my Uncle Pete). Letter included a very large family tree that dates back to the 1500's and states that one of our ancestors came over on the Mayflower, and my Great Uncle Wolf's arm discharge papers. This was very cool to look at and I just had a to take a photo of it all together.

Free Pastry Day!

The man that holds the key to my heart. My sunshine John Scott Goodson<3

Lastly, Scott bought me this beautiful Minolta film camera from Goodwill today for 4 dollars. I am more than excited to use it and so thankful that my baby thought of me when he saw it!

Ok, I am beyond tired. Goodnight.

Another day, another cup of coffee.

This morning I was getting ready for the day, and the morning bagel and coffee I had been dreaming of, when my parents decided that we should all drive up to Crested Butte for a few hours. So off we went, the whole 28 miles of beautiful mountain scenery. Once we got there we browsed around the shops, made a few purchases, and then had lunch at a cute cafe. I had a veggie breakfast burrito! Who needs sandwiches when you have breakfast burritos! After lunch we wandered around for a few more minutes and then headed back down to Gunnison.

I'm currently sitting in Mocha's coffeehouse/ice cream house drinking a sugar hazelnut latte and blogging about my life.

Here are a list of a few things that I've become obsessed with lately:
These Simple shoes that I got for 50% off at REI.

This website, and these lovely ladies blogs.

This dress I got in Crested Butte.

The idea of drinking Boba tea when I'm in Logan in a few weeks(and at home in a couple more!)

Ok, enough for now. More for later<3

July 16, 2009

Oh so tired. Hello midnight.

The last few days I've been trying to continue to get my creative on! I've been creating new things, including crochet sushi's, and I've decided that I have a few objects I need to re-create for a birthday present that I plan on giving to a friend that lives in Utah that I get to see in about two weeks (wooo Logan and bubble tea!).

Today I finally figured out what's going on with my ASU tuition payment AND my $1,000 scholarship money that I should be receiving very soon!

Yesterday I went with my mom to Crested Butte, Colorado to look around at the neat shops and have lunch. I got a beautiful summer dress for 50% off and ate yummy teriyaki tofu!

Tomorrow morning I think I'm going to treat myself to a breakfast bagel, or burrito, and a latte at the local coffee shop. It always makes me feel better to be in places like that and around people. It makes me feel more at home (daily routines are what I'm made of).

The altitude is killing my legs, and my head here. I can't wait to get back to Grand Junction on Sunday. My cousin Jared and I are going to see Bruno AND Harry Potter! Can't wait.

Creative flow.

I've had a lot of free time on my hands lately and therefore have been creating lots of things. I borrowed a few of these lovely ideas from the RVA website and decided to make my own. All objects are hand stitched and made with lots of love. I am always up for a trade so if you, any of my friends want to do a trade from one art loving, craft making person to another, let me know!

Here are a few of the things I've created lately:

Camera pouch for all the tiny goodies you can never leave home without.
Mix tape ipod/iphone case.
Sunflower coffee cozy!

Owl ipod/iphone cozy!

10 Things I Love Sunday

So I recently have heard of this concept of "10 Things I Love Sunday" where you pick 10 things every Sunday that you especially love/are interested in that last week. So here's my shot at "10 Things I Love Sunday":

1. John Scott Good (forever and always)
2. Cute felt projects
3. Boba tea (I'm seriously craving some so badly and I don't think they believe in it in CO because I can't find any here!)
4. Lomography fisheye cameras (I had one once, then my car was stolen and the camera along with it :[ )
5. The idea of going to see Harry Potter and Bruno soon!
6. Sketching in my sketch book (lots of inspirations have been zooming around in my head lately)
7. Celery with peanut butter on it
8. Iced coffee
9. Daily trips to Sbucks with my momma
10. Skyping with my love John Scott

Well that was fun.

More posts later!

July 10, 2009

Errands, projects, and lots of coffee.

Today consisted of running lots of errands for my momma, Sbucks, felt projects, book sales, farmer's market, and Unwritten Law.

My day was pretty uneventful other for the fact that I found the most amazing/creepy book in the world at the Rifle library book sale. I snapped a photo so that I could share it with you all. Here it is:

Can you spot the awkwardness? It even had checks in it from where it had been used!

Anyways, about these felt goodies I've been making. I'll just let a few pictures speak for themselves....

Coffee cozy love!
Coffee cozy love!
iPod/iPhone cozy!

I'm having so much fun making these cute things, and I have so many other ideas for felt projects! Can't wait! If you want me to make you something let me know. I love trades/sending things to my friends!

Ps. If you're a bird, I'm a bird.

Thank you John Scott.

My lovely boyfriend John Scott edited my photo on the top of my blog a bit and i LOVE it! Thank you sunshine. The photo was a lovely present to find on his photobucket. Along with this photo however was also a photo, or painting shall I say, of his own. This photo is of a painting he did back around May of 2007 for a show he had at The Coffee Buzz in Ahwatukke. I love the way he edited the photo and because I know he wouldn't mind ( :] love you honey) I'm going to display it.

In other news, my wonderful boyfriend also sent me a little package that absolutely made my day/week/month. The contents included:

Key ring topper! the "LO" is half of a LO-VE set and John Scott has the other half!
Cute decorated book that includes the sweetest notes<3
Photos taken on our sweet vintage film camera that he is taking care of for the summer!

Cupcake bandages that included a free cupcake sticker! Oh he knows me so well :]

Yesterday I also made a purchase that I'm super excited about. I found a reusable cold drink Starbucks cup at the Sbucks in town and just had to buy it, followed by two more for my parents. I have been looking for this cup since May and I'm excited to use it. It goes nicely with my reusable hot drink cup that Gina got me for my bday! Oh, and I also purchased this sweet bag from an organic farmer's market last week. I'm really trying to "go green" and loving it.

Today has been a very long day and I'm very ready for bed. Today has been spent sipping coffee, and working on felt cozies of all kinds!

ps. love of my life<3

Oh, and for reason I'm really feeling this video/song lately (TAI? I feel 17 again!) :
