Back Country Coffee

Yesterday morning I took a trip to my favorite coffee shop in Paonia, Colorado: Back Country Coffee.

This place is so quaint, and has the prettiest hardwood floors this girl has ever seen.

The coffee here is cheap (a large soy latte for 3.75? amazing), and tastes extra good in their eco friendly to-go cups.

Did I mention that they have yummy pastries as well? Well, they do!

Ginger chocolate chip scone!

They also have a cute porch area on the side of the building, and offer free wi-fi.

Lovely wooden ceiling.

Yesterday I also took full advantage of this and Skyped with Scott for about an hour or so, as well as did a little blog reading. I have a feeling that I will be spending lots of time there this week! In fact, I'm here right now, enjoying a bagel egg and cheese sandwich, along with a wonderful 3 shot soy latte.

What are you up to today?

  1. i am convinced that you don't eat anything other than coffee, tea and delicious pastries/yummy sandwhiches! i don't know how you have so many great coffee places near you...haha there seems to be a new one everyday!!

  2. so lovely!

as a lady who is also away from her fella for a few months (nashville vs new york city) i can sympathize with missing them and lots of skyping!

do you ever feel awkward skyping in public? i've only done it like once but i'm trying to get over it haha!

  3. Carly- Haha, that's actually most of what I eat! I do have cereal usually in the morning, and usually something light for dinner! Also, I'm actually traveling right now, so each week I'm being offered a set of new coffee shops to explore! :]

Kaelah- Oh my! You and your boyfriend are far apart! My boyfriend and I live in the same two nine months out of the year. I couldn't imagine not living in the same town as him :/ I did read on your blog recently though that you're moving to Nashville? That's so exciting! I bet you're super happy (as well as your boyfriend)! How long have you two been together?

Skyping in public is a little awkward, but I try to just ignore everyone around me. When I'm at home around my family, I usually try to do it in private, but when I'm in a public place I just focus on Scott and our conversation. That way I don't notice people staring at me like I'm talking to myself haha :]

Ps I LOVE your blog! Just had to tell you :]
PSS Congrats on Tattoo Tuesday! Danielle is a friend of mine from home, and she is a super sweet lady!

  4. Thanks so much for the kind words, Chelsea! :D I actually am from Nashville, and I live in NYC 3 months a year (for my internship at BUST). I'm excited to be going back home, but I'm hoping NYC is in the future for the both of us! We've only been together this second time around for 7 months but we live together so it's like we've been together for 7 years! It's just so much easier knowing there is a definite ending point to us being apart! Im sure its the same for you! <3 <3

  5. Kaelah- You intern at BuST? That's amazing! I'm a Journalusm major (print) at Arizona State University, and I'm hoping to feet a job with a magazine after I graduate in May. Can I ask how you got your internship? :)

Also, I feel the exact same way. I always know in the back of my mind that the end of our time apart is on it's way :)
