Obsessed with nature

As many of you know I am from Phoenix, AZ and spend most of my time in the city. However, in the summer I spend a lot of time in the mountains in Colorado.

Lately I've really been taking in the green scenery, and enjoying the cool weather.

At home in Phoenix it has been in the 100's, but here in Colorado it has been in the 70's and 80's in the day, and in the 50's at night.

I've always said that when I come to Colorado for the summer, I feel like I'm getting another fall/winter (sometimes, it did snow on me this May). For some reason however, I feel like I just don't enjoy it as much as I do a Phoenix fall day. I'm going to attribute this to the idea that in Phoenix the fall weather can be a savior to us that have been living in the hot, hot heat, and also because in true fall I always feel like I'm in a nostalgic state of mine, as do other people that I'm usually surrounded by.

In truth, nothing beats a cool fall Phoenix.

What has the weather been like in your area recently? Has it been overwhelmingly hot, or are you getting another shot at fall as well?

  1. It's been terribly hot here in Sacramento. Yesterday was 105!

  2. Liz- 105? Sounds like home to me! I heard it was close to 110 in Phoenix the other day!

  3. weather here has been AWFUL! with the humidity, the heat index has been around 104. and my ac broke two days ago so i slept with ice packs last night haha

p.s. sorry if you've already said, but why do you go to colorado every summer? i LOVED it there when i went last and i'd love to go back!

  4. I live in SUPER southern California, where it's already been in the 110 area. Our summer is quite hellish, it can reach 120 at times. I think that's why I become such a couch potato in the summer, I try not to leave the house until it somewhat cools off after like 6pm. Being in northern California this past weekend was a sweet relief from the heat, but now it's back to reality. *sigh* Wow, what a huge long reply. Sorry.

  5. It's always fall in Portland, OR! I mean, we have our hot days but they don't last.

  6. Oh I live in Glendale, AZ which is pretty much Phoenix. Yup its been at least 106+ everyday lately. Today I think it was 111. I stayed inside pretty much all day except the morning to take care of some moving stuff.
Ugh I can't stand this AZ heat. I miss my California weather. It was perfect.
