Bring out the plaid

Lately I've been yearning to wear cute plaid shirts. However, its still been too hot here in Phoenix (until recently that is). Fortunately though, the weather has decided to finally cool down- ya know, chilly mornings and evenings, 80-85 degrees during the afternoon (today it's actually only going to be 79 though). So I decided to take advantage of the cooler weather and break out some of my best fall plaid.

Flannel: Levi's
Cameo: Purchased in Greece a few summers ago
Jeans: Levi's
Booties: Jeffrey Campbell

Not too far from my school in downtown is a series of galleries all connected. The front of the galleries used to be painted with a carnival/circus theme. I thought it would be a neat area to take a few pictures in front of, what with their barred windows keeping in circus animals, and a couch made out of noodles, but unfortunately the paintings were gone, and the area is now painted a mixture of pastel colors, and disproportion people (really).

Just around the corner though is another set of galleries, and there Scott and I found this:

I'm really loving this giant red arrow, and the whiteness of the background. Just to the right on this picture is a lovely Mondrian esque painted doorway that I'm in love with.

This same day, Monday to be exact, Scott and I had lunch at That's a Wrap (their food was just too good the first time to not go back very soon), and also did homework and watched Pawn Stars and American Pickers (our new favorite show!).

Have you had a chance yet to break out your fall plaid? Is the weather cooler nowadays where you live?

  1. Love that outfit! You are oh-so stylish. You find the neatest walls to take photos near! I love it! I haven't been able to break out any plaid yet, but I'm getting antsy to do it soon :)

  2. I love how the shirt curves at the bottom! so cute.

I don't have any of my own plaid shirts but I stole 2 of my bf's and they're so soft and cozy. I wear them with leggings or skinny jeans on cool days. they're great. Love the plaid!

Also, the sunglasses your bf is wearing are great! are they yours or his? I'm confused since he seems to already have a pair on his tee. haha

  3. American Pickers is the best! I looove it!

  4. Hee Hee I actually wore my fave plaid shirt yesterday. I'm looking forward to the chilly days and nights.

  5. Love the plaid and love those shows! Great blog!

  6. Claggie- Oh geez, thanks girl! Hope you get to pull out your fall plaid soon!

Sylvia- Me too! That is what my favorite part about the shirt actually! Oh, and those are Scott's sunglasses on his face, and the pair around his neck are my glasses that I wanted him to hold during photos haha :]

    Ashley- Us too!

Poe- That's great! I am so excited for the chilly weather :]

Jen- Awh, thank you! I love that you're from AZ too!

To answer your question about why I moved to Australia..I dropped out of University in my first year (just wasnt feeling it!) and moved to Australia to work at a non profit organization to help street kids. Ive been doing it for about three years now. love it! x

  9. Kate- Thank you for the sweet comment! I just love your blog! Also, I think the reason you moved to Australia is amazing! So neat and heartfelt! Thank you for sharing! :]

  10. I love plaid! The weather's about the same here...well, highs in the upper 80s and lows in the upper 60s. I only own one plaid shirt (sadly), but I've been rocking it despite the heat!

  11. Congratulations on the dot com, my love!!

I'm so happy it's fall here in the desert. Time for pumpkin spice lattes!

    Love you!

  12. I love finding the perfect backdrop for a shoot! I'll have to check this place out!

  13. Always so adorable! I especially love those shoes :)

  14. Plaid is perfect for Fall, you have it down perfectly :)

  15. Beautiful pictures, pretty lady! As usual you are super photogenic :) and I'm a sucker for plaid. Maybe this is an inherently Canadian, lumberjack thing {haha}? I just don't know, but as soon as the temperatures start dropping, I am in plaid pretty much every day. SO cosy!!

Thanks for your sweet comment-- we are all feeling a little better now. Exams are just brutal this year!! Brownies helped.

P.s. I have always wondered, but thought it rude to ask...is that your natural hair colour?? It's so amazing.
