Flagstaff Dwelling

While out and about in Flagstaff, Scott and I spotted this beautiful building off an alley way. It's a little rough around the edges, but I just adore how old it is, and imagine there is a great story behind the building. For those of you who have visited Flagstaff before, it's right next to the Orpheum theater in downtown.

I'm kind of obsessed with fire escape, and large windows.

Scott also agrees with me, the building definitely has charm to it. We're both big fan of older architecture, and the fact that the building has lasted so many years just makes it even better.

This morning Scott and I have a breakfast date downtown, followed by a meeting for school and other things that need to be done before the start of the semester.

Do you like older buildings? What are your plans for today?

  1. i am obsessed w/ old buildings AND fire escapes. i don't know what it is about them, but i always want to photograph them. see: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kristinebazan/4179445299/ the building you came across is so interesting!

  2. i love love love old buildings. i sometimes come across people who have the 'ew gross' opinion and it always shocks me. though those are usually the people who also don't like thrift shopping because it's disgusting. that's when i realize i can't be friends with them anymore...haha, just kidding ;) anyway, i grew up in a very suburban neighbourhood, it was a relatively new(er) city and therefore there wasn't much to appreciate architecturally. anyways, since moving here 3 years ago, an older town with beautiful old buildings and a gorgeous downtown i have come to appreciate it so much. we currently live in a century building (not that you'd know it from the inside) but i love love love places with character, and again..don't understand how people can't!

  3. Old buildings are THE best! I'm always on the look for finding gorgeous settings to take pictures and old buildings are definitely something I keep an eye out for! I love your scarf!

  4. I absolutely love older buildings.
I have decided that when I get a place of my own it has to be an older building. Although, I learned from past experience of living in really old apartments that it is best to find renovated old buildings because if they are not renovated you are constantly running into problems that seem way above your head to be able to fix. That building is really gorgeous though! I imagine that you could make a great living space out of it!
