Avon River

My most favorite thing about Colorado is all the rivers and lakes they have here. Back at home we're landlocked (which I don't mind), so it's nice to have the chance to spend some time watching natures take it's course as it tips and turns around each river bend that I stumble upon.

This little spot right next to the river is one of my favorite places in Avon, Colorado. It's right behind a giant ski resort, which in the summertime is quiet and full of blooming flowers and rushing water around each side.

Lately I've been going for quite simple looks. I usually end up piling on different layers throughout the day though as the temperature starts to drop. Last night it was in the 30's, and the other morning it was in the 30's too! What's a girl from Phoenix to do with all of these cool temperatures? Good thing I love fall and winter wear all year round!

Jeans: Levi's
Sandals: Saltwater Sandals

Right now I'm in dire need of an iced coffee and a good walk! Earlier the car I was driving broke down and it left me stranded for a few hours (thank goodness family was nearby and for AAA), so I'm still feeling a little frazzled from that. Here's to a more positive evening!

What are you up to today? Do you have a favorite river or lake you like to go to?

  1. Oh, I cycled kind of close by there on my first cross-country bike trip! We spent the night in Breckenridge then biked through the mountains and along the river before heading south towards Gunnison. I definitely fell in love with Colorado on both my trips. Are you there for the whole summer?

  2. I am in LOVE with that dress. SO amazing. I've never been to Colorado and I could seriously use all that nature in my life. :)

  3. Omg a car breaking down mid trip is seriously my worst nightmare! Thank goodness you were okay :)

Amazing outfit - simple and beautiful.

  4. Love the tunic! I am a huge fan of Lulu's!!

  5. It looks so beautiful there. We like to visit Canyon Lake here in AZ but I really miss all the rivers and streams I used to frequent near Pittsburgh, PA. These photos remind me a lot of that.

I'm sorry about your car! I hate when stuff like that happens. Glad you're okay!

  6. What beautiful scenery! Lucky girl! I love that tunic.

  7. AAA is a life-saver, they've come to my family's rescue countless times! I'm sorry about your car though. As for my favorite river, I love the Hudson, along Hudson River Park in Manhattan. There are piers that go out into the river that have been landscaped as little parks, and it's just the loveliest place to spend an afternoon. And that tunic is so fun!
