Bella Forever

And just like that, the series is over. Yes, I am talking about the beloved Twilight Saga movies. Yes, I am a sometimes-closet fan of the series. I read the first three books back to back during the summer of 2008, after I kept seeing the books pop up everywhere. When I started reading the series, I wasn't really aware of the fandom that surrounded the books, but I soon learned of their massive popularity, and also of their connection to my home state (I was staying in Colorado for the summer at the time).

When the first film came out, I received what felt like a "golden ticket" to see the film a few days before the release date. I remember the excitement that filled the room, and how happy I was to be able to see a book I loved so much come to life. Today, during an afternoon showing of the final film in the series, the feeling was no different. However, I can't lie that my feelings were being chased with a slight tinge of sadness for the thought that the series is now all over. It's nice to think though that books, however, really do live on forever, and for that I'm thankful.

This weekend I am in need of a major study session! Slowly but surely my final projects are creeping their way into my life (already?), and it's time to start kicking them in the butt! I also have dreams of knitting a tunnel scarf, and maybe also finishing up the current book I'm reading.

What do you have planned for this weekend? Seeing Breaking Dawn or another movie?

  1. i'm a closet twilight fan as well. i'll be seeing the movie on monday and i'm a little worried that i'm gonna be sad that it's over. i was more a fan of the books than the movies, and i think each film got progressively better than the last. it's weird that it's going to be finished because i feel like it's gone on for so long.

oh and you look absolutely stunning, girl! so beautiful.

  2. i feel the same way! when the books first came out and everyone was obsessed, i practically refused to read them. a friend finally convinced me to give them a try and i was hooked. i'm going to see the last movie with my sister next week when we're visiting for thanksgiving! can't wait!

  3. What book are you reading? I too am feeling pressure from my final projects. It is so stressful and I look forward to the end of this semester and a month of no homework.

  8. I saw the movie on Sunday...but wasn't there a major twist? It's been a while since I finished the books...but there was a collective "What?!" in the movie theater, so I'm guessing everyone else agreed. As far as I can remember, something major was changed in the movie (I don't want to give anything away)...and I'm wondering if they did that to leave room for another book/movie? Hmmm. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the film! :)
