Some days, weeks, months, I get in a Strokes phase and can't bear to listen to anything but their entire collection. In high school, my friends and I were obsessed with Julian Casablancas (I know, I've admitted this before) and how cute all of the boys in the band were. Years later, I'm still swooning over their witty melodies and up-beat tunes. Not to say that I'm not swooning over how cute they all still are, but that's another story. Aside from their musical talents, I've alway loved their laid back, chic, I don't care how messy I look because I still look so hip style. Julian Casabalancas has always been known to pull off a leather jacket well, so I have a feeling this outfit would get his stamp of approval - or maybe just a cool head nod, ya know, because that seems more like him.

Today I've been a busy bee working up a storm and pondering the reasons why people are drawn to certain indivduals. Growing up with a natural inquisitive disposition, this question has often racked my brain - which may be the reason I studied journalism and communication in college - but really, what draws people to others? Is it their quirky style? Maybe their sense of humor, or their witty personality? Whatever it is, I'm always curious to learn the why in this situation.

What's on your mind today?

Today I'm teaming up with Sparrow for an amazing giveaway! Kristi, the sweet gal behind the online boutique, has challenged me to choose my three most coveted items from her shop. While this might sound like an easy task, let me tell you, it was difficult! Sparrow is chock full of so many versatile and classic pieces (my favorite), with a mixture of trendy styles thrown in good measure (a must in my style book!). It sure took me awhile, but I finally came to the consensus that right now I'm most coveting ---

Now that I've shared my most coveted pieces, be sure and enter today's giveaway for a chance to win one of your most coveted piece from Sparrow. Good luck! xo

Today I have the pleasure of teaming up with Sparrow, an online boutique based out of Michigan that features a mixture of current trends and modern fashion. Sparrow is the brandchild of Kristi, a super sweet gal with an eye for style and a passion for her local community. Kristi challenged me to style up their versatile little black dress three different ways, and I gladly accepted the challenge! I'm all about classic pieces that you can wear over, and over again, so styling up this perfect LBD felt right up my alley. I thought it would be fun to try out a boho look, a date night look, and a laid back style for running errands or hanging out with friends in the summertime. Without further ado ---

Target hat, A Lovely, Little Shop necklace, KS Saturday bag, JCP belt, & Sam Edelman boots.

A Lovely, Little Shop necklace, JCP belt, & Julianna Hough for Sole Society heels.

Target scarf, JCP belt, & Low Pro Vans.

Out of the three looks, the boho style is my favorite. I could rock a hat, a cool dress, and booties any day of the week. The Sparrow online shop  is full of so many versatile pieces, and they're having a huge spring cleaning sale right now. I truly enjoyed this challenge, and feel very thankful to be able to partner with such an amazing boutique. Don't forget to check out Sparrow's social sites for behind the scene peeks and updates on their shop - Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and blog.

On this first day of spring, I'm feeling a bit nostalgic about the months that have past. December, January, February, and half of March, they were all remarkable months. January, of course, was by far my favorite. I can still feel the excitement and nerves that flooded me when the time came to walk down the aisle. I hope that feeling stays with me forever. Winter 2014, you really treated us well. Spring 2014, I'm looking to you for bright days, positive vibes, and the best 26th birthday a girl can have!

What are you most excited for this spring?

And my last post was last Monday! Oops! I do have a somewhat good excuse, however. Tuesday night when I would have been working on my next post I was asked last minute to hop on a jet plane the next morning to go on a business trip to Miami! Well, who could say no to that? So I spent the last few hours Tuesday evening shopping like crazy for the perfect dress and shoes for a swanky party I would be attending/working, and then packing until the wee hours of the morning. Miami was beautiful and I feel extremely blessed to have been able to go with my team and gain this new experience. You may have have seen my crystal clear beach photos taking over your Instagram feed (no apologies!), but I promise to share more photos of my trip here soon. Miami, I'm coming back for you someday!

The past few days Scott and I have been fighting off what we think is either food poisoning (no!), or a stomach bug that my doctor said is going around the Valley. However, I'm happy to say that we're both on the mend and we're celebrating our two month anniversary tonight with a romantic dinner of cereal and a night full of laundry. Let's be honest, I'm just being real!

What have you been up to lately? Have you ever been to Miami before? Have a favorite area?

Hey-oo, Monday! My sleepy dreams are telling me NO, but my 7:15am doctor's appointment is giving me a big ol' slap in the face. Well, I'm beating the monday blues with some hot pumpkin spice coffee (not ready to give it up yet), and my "Choose Joy" t-shirt from Arsenic & Lace. I love the positive message this comfy tee gives off, and what better day to wear it then today, the "dreaded Monday." Choose joy, sweet friends, today's our day!

This weekend went by in a hot minute! On Friday, Scott and I hung out at home and stopped by Target for a non-sensical stroll through the store, ya know, the kind that costs you $40 and you end up leaving with a cart full of random things. Ya, we're one of those people (too!). On Saturday, we celebrated a close friend's birthday with Raising Cane's secret sauce and french fries, and then topped it off with another trip to Target - but it was at the good Target on the other side of town, so, ya know, we had to. On Sunday, I got up early and bought a dozen donuts to munch on throughout the day, cleaned up a bit, and browsed around the mall in search of new shoes. I've battling what I hope is only an allergy related cough, and my throat has been so sore lately, so lots of hot green tea and honey was sipped on all weekend. What's your favorite sore throat remedy?

It's going to be in the high 70's and 80's here this week, and I can't decided whether to mourn the loss of the cool winter breeze, or to indulge in the warm sunshine. For now, let's just say I lie somewhere in the middle - not ready to give up my layers, but enjoying the pre-spring warmth on the daily.

How was your weekend?

March 7, 2014

You heard me! It's Friday and I'm loving all of the postive vibes that have been floating around today. I started off my morning by getting to work early, popping the top off of a glass bottled Stumptown Cold Brew, and owning my daily tasks before 9 a.m.. Even though this day starting off with a smashing start, I'm counting down the mintues to the weekend. I used to never be the kind of person who pined for the weekend to come, but now, I'm all about those two days of rest and relaxtions. My sweet friend, Chelsea, posted a link to this article about things you suddently want to do in your twenties and I had a good giggle about how many of them were so true (give me all the weekend brunch dates, please!). Are you guilty of any of these things? I might be guilty of one or two. ;)

I'm currently sitting at my desk at work and there is dead silence all around me. Well, part of that is due to the witching hour that is lunch, but mostly because everyone is out today. Some days I really cherish a quiet and calm office, but usually I like the chaos and conversations that circle around me throughout the day. I guess I'll be looking to you to keeping me company today, but once 5pm hits, I'm headed for the weekend! Sunshine, early morning coffee dates, and brunch are in my near future - anyone up for joining me?

Sweater: Levi's
Blouse: Madewell

To kick start the weekend, I think I'll be taking the plunge and ordering this beauty of a bag, and also headed out to pick up a mid-afternoon treat! What are you up to? Have any plans for the weekend? What item are you most coveting right now?

Chelsea and Scott highlight from Romantic Wedding Videos on Vimeo.

Having our special day captured on video was very important to Scott and I. We wanted those moments of candid smiles, of our evident hearts racing as we walked down the aisle, and all of those special, little moments that we never wanted to forget captured in time forever. Our wedding day was filmed by our sweet friend, Lars Lindstrom. He put us at ease when we were nervously getting ready, and did such a wonderful job at capturing so many beautiful moments - from us getting ready, to our first look and first kiss as husband and wife, to our sparkler exit (and this is only our highlight!). Thank you, Lars!

March 3, 2014

Hey Monday! While we had a rough start (cue hitting my alarm too many times), you treated me well. I'm currently hanging out with my husband and folks, watching my sweet pup, Piper, snuggle up to my dad as she falls fast asleep. Even though she's over a year old, she is still such a baby. Scout, who will be two in May, is just the same. It's been so neat to see their personalities develop and grow over time. They were definitely meant to be in our family! Do you have any fur babies? I would love to hear about them!

Two words -- wedding band! *Sorry, I just had to.* I've been rocking my wedding bands (I have one that sits in front of my engagement ring too) for over a month now, which is crazy to think! I remember the day we picked out our wedding bands, and how exciting it was to be trying on a ring that would soon mean so much. I wanted something simple that would complement my engagement ring, and Scott wanted something comfortable and classic. We left the jewelry store happy and excited with his ring in hand (mine had to be resized). On Christmas day Scott surprised me with a second band that I had been wishing before, but had decided to wait on until my birthday, our first anniversary, or another exciting day in our life. He had another idea, though, and I'm so happy that he did. I can't even tell you how many times a day I still catch myself looking at my engagement ring and wedding bands. I still can't get over how lucky am! Thanks, husband, for asking me to be your wife!

Remember last week when I shared my thoughts on Teal Monday? Well, I'm still holding this to be true. While I may not be wearing teal today (although, light blue is close), I still rocked the Teal Monday vibes all morning and afternoon. I really like the idea of bringing positivity into a day that carries such a negative connotation, and while I may have my off days every once in awhile, it's nice to focus on the positive and make every Monday (and every other day, for that matter) the best it can be. Did you rock the Teal Monday vibes with me today?

I posted this little story on Instagram earlier, but I thought it would be nice to share it here as well (because let's be honest, my heart is still swooning and it's too sweet not to share). So, five o'clock hit me hard today, so I told my sweet husband that I was going to make some coffee when I got home. Twenty minutes later when I walked in the door, there was an iced coffee waiting for me on the kitchen table. I truly am such a lucky lady to have such a thoughtful husband - he just gets met! Someone mentioned in a comment that coffee is clearly my love language, and I think she couldn't be more right.

March 1, 2014

Hello, March! I thought I would welcome the new month with a three things post, inspired by incredibly lovely Chelsea of the Zipped blog. Chelsea is a constant source of inspiration for me, and I feel honored to call her a friend. Without further ado ---

1. We're ushering in March with some dreary weather today. Dark clouds, light showers, and a breeze in the air. No complaining around here though, my coffee cup is full and I'm cherishing what might be the last few days of cool weather around these parts for months to come.

2. Today is my bestie's birthday! Happy Birthday, Courtney! Last night we started off the celebration with vegan ice cream and a long chat outside during a wind storm in downtown Phoenix. Tonight we're paying tribute to the 80's with a dance party at a local bar with her twin and a few of their closest friends. I'm still trying to hunt down an appropriate outfit for the event!

3. I've had the major urge to shop lately - like not joking, it's bad. I've done some small damage over the past week or so, but I've got my eye on a few bigger purchases - like this Kate Spade Saturday bag.

What three things have been on your mind lately?
