WELCOME TO PEIXOTO COFFEE

If you've ever taken a peek at my Instagram, you know that my day almost always involves a stop at Peixoto Coffee! I wrote my first post about Peixoto Coffee back in February when their doors first opened, and since then I've spent countless mornings, afternoons and evenings sipping coffee in this darling shop in Downtown Chandler. Scott and I have also created a strong bond and friendship with the owners (Jeff and Julia, an amazing husband and wife team), as well as with their talented baristas and even a few other Peixoto regulars. To say that we're dedicated to this coffee is an understatement, but alas, I'm sure you've already gathered that if you follow me on social media. ;) So, I'm back today to share their story once again, and to encourage all of you stop by Peixoto Coffee the next time you're in Chandler!

For the past 150 years, the Peixoto family has been upholding their crop-to-cup tradition. Located in the Southeast region of Brazil, the Peixoto family farm grows every Brazilian coffee bean that makes its way into the shop. Along with the coffee that they serve from their family farm, they also serve other single-origin coffees, espresso-based drinks, cold-brew (my favorite!), cascara (delicious iced tea), their own version of an Arnold Palmer and other signature iced beverages (like coconut iced coffee and Nitro cold brew!) -- any of which would be delicious during these hot summertime days.

Peixoto Coffee not only offers delicious and unique drinks, they also have a cozy space with lots of seating (most of it vintage or re-style by the owners) and are completely kid-friendly. Jeff and Julia's have two littles of their own and know how important it is to have a space where you can not only sit and enjoy, but your kids too. The service they provide is also top-notch, so if you're on the go and just want stop in for a quick iced coffee to-go, their awesome baristas will have it out to have you as quickly as you ordered it -- so nice when you're on the run, but want to support your favorite local shop!

Since the summer heat has hit us in full-force, Scott I have been stopping in at Peixoto during the mornings for an iced coffee, and then sometimes in the evening too for a little pick-me-up and a cold drink. Peixoto recently released their Nitro cold brew (think a frothy and smooth iced coffee), and Scott and I are both big fans! Our usual drink order is a large cold brew, but sometimes it's nice to venture out and get something different. On this day I had a yummy cappuccino, but next time we go (straight from the plane on Sunday, I'm sure!) I plan on having a coconut cold brew -- YUM!

Peixoto Coffee is open seven days a week and is always hosting pop-up shops and local events in their lounge space. Their next event is their "Summer Coffee Happy Hour" on Friday, July 10th from 4-8pm! You can find out more about their store hours, events, their darling coffee shop and even purchase beans (for all of your out-of-towners) on their website! Also don't forget to like their Facebook page, also check out their awesome coffee photos and tweets on Instagram and Twitter. If you live locally, make sure you stop in at Peixoto the next time you're in Chandler! I hope to see so many of you there in the near future!

Also, a big thank you goes out to Peixoto Coffee for sponsoring this post! Thank you for supporting me in doing what I love -- and always keeping me highly caffeinated!

SUMMER IN THE GROVE

Hello! Scott and I are back from our California adventure and I wanted to say thank ya'll so much for  the recommendations and kind notes -- we had the best time in San Diego! While on our trip we must have taken 500 photos (and videos too!), but we took these photos a few weeks before we left the land of the the desert (aka Phoenix where is was 115 degrees while we were gone), so before I got on a roll with posting those photos, I wanted to share these because I absolutely loved this gorgeous early summer day and how beautiful the lighting was in our favorite orchard.

June has been a crazy, busy month and I can't believe it's almost over! Since coming back to California, Scott and I purchased airline tickets and will be hopping on a jetplane Saturday afternoon to spend a week with my folks in Salt Lake City, UT. I'm so excited for the beautiful weather, the lush landscape, and to see my pups, Piper and Scout, who I've missed terribly while they've been away with my folks for the summer.

If you have any suggestions for neat restaurants, shops, coffee shops, etc., in the Salt Lake City area -- please send them my way! I'm also hoping to meet up with an old friend (Hi Lucia!), and also a few sweet ladies that I've met through Instagram and blogging of the years. I love that because of this ol' blog of mine that I've been able to make friends in cities all over the country, including Salt Lake and Chicago -- which I'll be headed to in August for the Create & Cultivate conference. Will I be seeing any of you there? Let a lady know! ;)

I already have a feeling that this summer will be full of traveling, and I feel so blessed that I get to do so much of it with this sweet guy -- he's my rock, my travel companion and built-in coffee date/best friend, among many other things-- doesn't get much better than that!

Outfit Details:
Vince Camuto Wide-Brim Hat (similar and on sale!)
Free People Lace Blouse (similar and on sale!)
Loft Jeans (my favorite pair of jeans!)

Are you headed anywhere fun this summer? Where's your favorite place to travel to? Have any big plans that you're checking off of your bucket-list this summer?

CALIFORNIA, HERE WE COME

Hello! I started writing this post when we weren't actually in California yet, so the title still feels relevant -- even though I'm currently sitting in our darling AirBnB in San Diego with all the windows and patio door open, taking in the cool breeze and our gorgeous view of a canyon below us. We arrived here late last night after a quick 5+hour drive from Phoenix, and now we'll be spending the next few days enjoying the cooler weather, the ocean waters, lots and lots of coffee shops, and of course, the Del Mar Fair!

Outfit Details:
Madewell Linen Dress (this season's!)

Scott and I have been dreaming about taking this mini-getaway for quite some time now, so we're very excited to finally be here and staying in the most darling place. If you have any suggestions of places we should go or things we should see during our stay here in San Diego, pretty please leave them in a comment below!

Have a great weekend, ya'll!

AGRITOPIA APPLES

Before the sweltering heat kicked in (for reals, yesterday was 109 degrees -- woof!), Scott and I spent an afternoon picking apples at the farm at Agritopia. You may be thinking -- apples? I know, it's a bit early, but because of our mostly hot spring/summer days we have to get our picking in before the summer really fires up and while the apples are ripe for the picking. Anyways, Scott and I had the best time wandering around the apple orchard, picking apples, juggling a few here and there, and see how high we can get them to go in the air. ;)

Outfit Details:

We ended up picking a couple pounds of apples, which were all pretty tart -- so Scott made us the most amazing apple pie, apple + grilled cheese sandwiches, apple salads and so many more delicious savory and sweet dishes. I feel like I'm teasing my midwest and east coast friends with our crazy-early apples, but I promise, friends, your time to pick those delicious green and red apples will come. Until then, we'll just be here soaking in the sun and enjoying summer to the fullest! Have I mentioned that were headed to San Diego on Thursday for a mini-getaway? We can't wait and would love any suggestion you may have!

Have a great week, ya'll!
